With a combined ten years of Art Director and Set Design experience, I have overseen a wide variety of different projects, ranging from quick turn-around renovation shows, to studio shows, to film sets. I am very comfortable in leading a crew and delegating tasks whether it be an art department team or independent contractors. I work well in high energy- fast paced work environments. My wide range of experience includes directing a creative team, interior design, set dressing, creating and sourcing props.
Most recently, I was the Set Designer for HGTV's Beachfront and Lakefront Bargain Hunt Renovation. I traveled to each location with a design plan prepared in advance by communicating remotely with the contributors on the ongoing progress of the renovation. My duties were to wrap up the final details of construction and then design and dress the interiors of all the featured spaces.
As Art Director for Travel Channel's Hotel Impossible, I collaborated directly with the on-air Designer through all stages of each project. My roles included; overseeing construction crews, designing interiors, decorating, creating DIYs, shopping, and adhering to a tight timeline and budget. Before doing Hotel Impossible, I worked as the Set Designer for various pilots and series across a variety of networks-including MTV, TLC, Food Network, and Animal Planet.
In addition to TV and Digital, I have worked on the independent film, "Sleeping with the Fishes", starring Gina Rodriguez and Anna Ortiz. I also created "period appropriate" props and decor for the series, "Carrie Diaries", on the WB Network. Just recently I was the set decorator for a digital pilot for Food Network titled, "Cooking with Kids."
When I'm not working on a set I spend my time oil painting, refinishing furniture, painting murals, illustrating children's books, and designing spaces.
